Server Terms & Condtions
This document constitutes the full terms and conditions of use for Counterstrike
clan ports and voice communication services provided by TAA|Gaming.
1a. This document may be updated from time to time without prior notice. Any
such additions, amendments or deletions will be notified via email subsequent to
implementation. Any such items which affect either specification or level of
service will be notified 30 days in advance (if possible).
1b. Any issues / matters raised which are not covered specifically or
generally by this document will fall under the explicit jurisdiction of the
TAA|Gaming staff. Staff's decisions are final, no rebuttals are accepted,
although discussion is allowed. Should the issue / matter justify inclusion in
this document, it will be added at our convenience. Otherwise it will remain
under the staff's jurisdiction.
1c. The contents of this document are NOT open to interpretation. Should
any information provided here be ambiguous or unexplained to a level whereby
competent understanding is not possible, a member of staff should be notified
and clarification will be provided and this document updated (if necessary).
STAFF
2a. TAA|Gaming staff are here to help and we provide several methods of
contact (see relevant section below). In most cases IRC is the preferred method
of contact. Members of staff are often available in IRC (#taa-gaming on
Quakenet) but this is not a part of our service. Email is our preferred
secondary contact method. We aim to be available when required but do not
guarantee staff availability via IRC or Email. Due to our staff being human and
therefore requiring sleep, some of the small wee hours of the morning are
reserved for such (although you'd be surprised at the hours some of our staff
keep).
2b. Abuse of ANY KIND towards staff in ANY WAY will not be tolerated.
This includes ALL methods and mediums of contact (email, irc etc). Such abuse
will result in punishment to be decided on by our staff. This can include but is
not limited to banning from #taa-gaming, email address blocking and clan port
revocation.
PRICING & SPECIFICATION OF SERVICE(S)
3a. Pricing and specification of service (player slots, selectable
options etc) may be updated from time to time, such changes being reflected on
the relevant web pages. Any such changes do not affect existing clients, who's
specific port pricing and specification will remain as is unless requested
otherwise. Clans may be asked to accept changes but are not obliged to do so.
3b. Use / installation of services not specified and paid for when
ordering is strictly forbidden. For very good reasons (primarily stability and
performance) we only offer a restricted list of available options, addons,
extras etc. All ports are managed by ourselves and other than configuration
files and maps, no files on your port should be amended in any way.
3c. Refunds are only issued if a clan shows sufficient evidence of poor
service in comparison to at least one other leading UK clan port provider. Only
full remaining months will be refunded. Refunds are made to the original payee
only and by paypal, nochex, bank transfer or cheque.
3d. Setup is free on all servers. However, ports are not brought online
until payment is received in full and cleared. All clients receive a 1 week
trial which commences as soon as the port is online. The trial period stands
outside our normal refund policy and should a clan be unhappy with the level of
service during this period a full refund will be issued.
PROVISION OF SERVICE
4a. Although we aim to provide 100% uptime of all services this simply
isn't possible. Clients accept that our services are affected by factors outside
our control (including host outages, hardware failure etc.). They also accept
that no refunds will be issued unless these outages exceed those of at least one
other leading service provider.
4b. Hardware. We guarantee that port service will not be impaired by
hardware performance (server overload or lag). When all ports on a particular
hardware server are in full use the hardware should be around 90% of maximum.
Our server status page reports each servers hardware load live. Clans feeling
there port is being affected by load should contact support immediately to
report the issue.
4c. Maintenance. We reserve the right to undertake maintenance to our hardware and
software systems at any time. We endeavour to confine such work to periods when
those ports show 0 players present. Most maintenance is carried out between 2am
and 6am. As much notice as possible will be given to all clients by email as a
minimum, other methods when appropriate. Furthermore, we reserve the right to restart clan ports at any time should we feel it necessary when implementing changes. We again will endevour to restart ports only during 0 players present periods but this is not guaranteed.
4d. This provision of service covers only (and exactly) that purchased.
This does not include any of (but not limited to) the following: metamod
plugins, adminmod plugins, any other addon. We strictly forbid the enabling of
any addons available from our list but not purchased (see section 3b). Although
we do not strictly forbid the addition of basic adminmod plugins and/or scripts,
we recommend against them. During tests, several of such plugins/scripts were
found to cause stability and/or performance issues. We therefore reserve the
right to remove any such plugins/scripts at our discretion. Certain
configuration options are also locked off by our systems, this is for stability
and performance reasoning. We also reserve the right to lock any configuration
setting which we feel unduly affects port or system stability or performance.
4e. The provision of external voice comms services is restricted to
Ventrilo only, we offer no other service. Counterstrikes "In Game" system is
included with all clan ports. We are a fully licensed host of Ventrilo services.

channel (max 10 users) is issued when purchased. The channel is passworded.
Admin options are not available, password changes by request only.
4f. Our provision of service does not include a HLTV server. Paid options
are available for clans requiring HLTV services. We currently offer a "FREE HLTV
DEMO RECORDER" with all clan port rentals. This service is provided freely and
we reserve the right to revoke it at any time at no consequence. Limitations
apply to the usage of this free service see links section below for details.
4g. Clients accept that provision of rented counterstrike clan port
services rely upon the "Steam" service. They also accept that service outages
caused by Steam are outside our control and that we accept no liability for such
outages. We do however operate an extensive manual update schedule to ensure
ports are running the latest software at all times. This assists in preventing
outages due to Steam but does not remove the possibility entirely.
4h. Any services which can connect to game servers can cause degradation of service. We reserve the right to disallow use of any such services on our servers if clients are not prepared to adjust their configuration in line with our recommendations.

CONTACT NOTES
Contact should be made via IRC first. If unavailable please email the
relevant department above. We endeavour to provide the highest level of support
possible. However, due to circumstances beyond our control we may not be
available immediately on receiving a query. Rest assured all queries will be
processed as soon as humanely possible.
Please make support enquiries to the support email address primarily. If you do
not receive a response within 2 hours or the matter is very urgent please email
the emergency email address. Emails to the emergency address should be kept
short (less than 160 characters) and state your clan name on the subject line,
followed by a very brief description of the problem in the body content.
GENERAL NOTES (Freehand)
The following notes are freehand by the TAA|Gaming staff and should not be
classed as part of this terms and conditions document.
All of the above looks very official we know, it's mainly to protect us from
abuse. We are lucky enough not to know many nasty clans who abuse clan port
providers but they still exist we're afraid.
At the end of the day virtually all of our clan ports are rented purely from
"word of mouth" from clan to clan, so we must be doing something right :)
We've done our own little guide to a happy TAA & CLAN relationship:
1) Please don't mess about with the port files / install.
Configs: All clans normally need to do is edit the configs we provide.
Clans confidence and experienced enough to use their own configs are welcome to
do so. If you have ANY problems with either our configs or even your own, give
us a shout, we are happy to help. If you totally mince your configs give us a
shout, we can put our standard ones back on for you in seconds.
Addons: Please don't stick stuff on you haven't paid for, it's not as if
we aren't going to notice. Even if you pay for an addon later, let us install
and configure it. It only takes us a few minutes usually and your assured of a
well optimised install. We don't like addons of any kind to be honest, most are
poorly coded. We offer the mainstream addons which we've stability/performance
tested and are happy with. The only exception are some adminmod plugins/scripts
,section 4d above pretty much covers our position on these.
2) Please, if you've got a problem, TELL US. Get in IRC or email and let
us know. The sooner the better. Don't go shouting to everyone and their mum's
about the problem until you've given us a chance to sort it. We are FLAMING
(strongest word I could think of without swearing :D) quick at fixing things. We
pride ourselves on customer service, every provider has problems, it's how we
deal with them that really counts. Statistics also show that over 80% of
problems reported to our staff are inflicted by their own server admins.
Ignorance is not bliss boys and girls, call us, please :)
3) Please don't unpassword your server if you haven't paid for it. We run
log checkers which inform us of every sv_password change. It's a fiver a month
to make it public, if you want it, pay for it.
4) Please don't demean yourselves by asking for discounts. We DON'T OFFER
DISCOUNTS. We only offer 3 month renewable contracts. Our pricing is as good if
not better than most other "leading" clan port providers.
5) Please don't request sponsorship. WE DON'T SPONSOR. Well, in fact we
do but if we are looking to sponsor, we will contact you. If we haven't, please
don't contact us. Currently we sponsor our own clan TAA - The Angry Angels
(www.taa-gaming.com/clan) and the up and coming league UKCSL
(ukcsl.taa-gaming.com). We are not looking for potential sponsorship
opportunities at this time.
That's about it really, a basic, we play fair if you play fair system really.
